I am a wife and mama first. My three girls and hubby are my world. They are my reason for and inspiration to shoot. Sometimes I find myself wishing I would have spaced my children out more (they are 4, 3, and 2 months), or wishing that they were more self-sufficient. I always remind myself that I am definitely going to miss these moments when they are gone. I need to slow down and enjoy the ride. They aren’t going to always run to me with their owies or ask to hold my hand. In fact, my oldest, Blake, has already started asking me to drop her off at the door at school instead of letting me walk her to her classroom. The first day she asked to do it herself, I cried. It was so bittersweet. How blessed am I to have three beautiful, smart, funny, strong-willed, and soon-to-be-independent girls?
There is a lot of overlap in my career and family. I grew up loving looking at albums of my great-grandma. I knew I wanted to document everything when my first daughter was born. I am a mama like most of the clients that hire me. As a mama and a photographer, the photos that speak to me the most are the REAL moments in life. I do love the frame-able posed images too, but the images that stop me in my tracks are the moments that were not planned but everyone can related to. I absolutely love lifestyle photography and black and white images. I have been wanting to do a lifestyle photo session with my girls in our home for awhile now. Yesterday, we had a snow day and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to follow my girls around with a camera.
I would LOVE to photograph a lifestyle session in your home–contact me for more details!
Here is what a day in the life of my girls looks like. God truly blessed me when he chose me to be mama to Blake, Tatum and Camdyn!
